Starting wizard
Check the radio button before Find text in a region then click Create task button.
Selecting text
Selecting a region on the screen is similar with selecting text in an editor. See also [[Extract text from a region on the screen].
- Move the mouse cursor to the upper left corner of the desired region on the screen.
- Click the mouse button and keep it pressed.
- Drag the mouse to select the region.
Selected region coordinates
In the next dialog you can see the coordinates of the region of the ecreen where you selected text.
Then you're invited to choose the screen scraping method.
Screen scraping method
- Native - works only with visible text on the screen, fastest method and 100% accurate.
- OCR - good for images/scanned documents, requires Microsoft Office Document Imaging component.
- FullText - working well for scrolled or invisible text.
Afer you choose the screen scraping method, click Find text button.
Finding text
In the next picture there are shown the coordinates of the selected region where you want to find words, the Window ID and and the screen scraping method. In this dialog you have to
- type here the text to be found,
- Click Find text button (after clicking this button you are shown the coordinates of the found text)
- In the end click Generate task.
Naming your task is mandatory
Now it's time to give your task a name. Then click Save Task and Run.
