Starting the wizard

  1. Check the second radio button on the ScreenScraper Studion main window to Extract text from a specific window or control.
  2. Then click Create task button as you can see in the picture below.

The wizard that appears is telling you to do the following:


Selecting a window

  1. Move the cursor over the desired window;
  2. Click the mouse button to activate the window.

It will look like this:

Then a dialog opens showing you the Window ID. Now you have to Choose a screen scraping method and then to extract the text in the selected window. See the following two pictures.

After you click the Extract text button you'll see this dialog below with the extracted text from the selected window, containing also the Window ID, the screen scraping method option and the font and size of the scrapped text character.

By clicking Generate task button.jpg you're invited in the

to


  1. name your task, and
  2. choose a destination to save the file and finally
  3. click the Save task and Run button.

Note: you can repeat the task as many times as you want to and also you can set the interval you want it to run. See the picture below.
